i cried at two instances in this book. the first one was while on the MRT on the way to work. while reading that chapter, suddenly the tears rolled down my cheeks. (the last time something like this happened on the train was when i was halfway through It by Stephen King, where i shut the book coz i got so creeped out by that dammed clown).
i wanna say soooo many things about the book, but i don't want to give anything away.
"Hassan, we -"
"I know," he said, breaking our embrace. "Inshallah, we'll celebrate later. Right now, I'm going to run that blue kite for you," he said. He dropped the spool and took off running, the hem of his green chapan dragging in the snow behind him.
"Hassan!" I called. "Come back with it!"
He was already turning the street corner, his rubber boots kicking up the snow. He stopped, turned. he cupped his hands around his mouth.
"For you a thousand times over!" | aiyoh.......this book was sooo good....it even made me nearly cried...... |
 | yatra wrote on Oct 30, '06 I cried in a few instances in the book too. Funny how it felt like watching a Hindi movie when I read it and yet the author talks about life notbeing a hindi movie.
This is another section that had me in tears...
//" I see now that Baba was wrong, there is a God, there always been. I see Him here, in the eyes of the people in the corridor of desperation..."
